Welcome to Gigawatt PV Technology (GWPVtech), a comprehensive workshop organized by ISC Konstanz and CHRIST (Deemed to be University) aimed at bridging the gap in photovoltaic research between academia and industry. The event is focused on critical topics within solar photovoltaics, addressing both current domestic and industrial challenges as well as advancements in photovoltaic cell manufacturing. A consortium consisting of a diverse group of experts, researchers, and industry professionals, GWPVtech provides a unique platform for in-depth discussions and collaborative problem-solving.
The emphasis on solar energy is crucial for both academic inquiry and industrial innovation, as it plays a significant role in advancing sustainable energy solutions and reducing our reliance on fossil fuels. The workshop is designed to foster a collaborative environment where participants can explore emerging technologies, share insights, and develop strategies to overcome the hurdles faced in optimizing solar power. Through this dialogue, GWPVtech aims to drive progress in the field and contribute to the broader goal of a more sustainable and energy-efficient future.

It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the GWPVtech Workshop, taking place on October 28th and 29th in the vibrant city of Delhi, India. This workshop represents a significant milestone in our collective journey towards advancing the global photovoltaic (PV) industry, particularly in a region where PV production is rapidly gaining momentum.
India stands at the cusp of a solar revolution. The country’s PV production capacity is on a robust upswing, and with it comes the critical need for high-quality production processes that are not only efficient but also sustainable. The Indian market’s growth potential is immense, but to fully realize this potential, it is essential that the industry is supported by cutting-edge technology, innovative machinery, and strong scientific research.
This is where the GWPVtech Workshop plays a pivotal role. Our aim is to bring together the PV-producing industry in India with leading European machine builders, as well as top researchers and scientists from universities and institutes across the globe. By fostering this collaboration, we can ensure that the Indian PV industry not only grows but thrives on a foundation of quality, innovation, and scientific excellence.
The synergies that emerge from this workshop will be vital in shaping the future of PV production in India. About CHRIST
CHRIST (Deemed to be University) was established as ‘Christ College’ in 1969. It undertook path-breaking initiatives in Indian higher education with the introduction of innovative and modern curricula, insistence on academic discipline, imparting of Holistic Education and adoption of global higher education practices with the support of creative and dedicated staff.
One of the first institutions in India to be accredited in 1998 by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Government of India, and subsequently in 2004, 2016, 2022 CHRIST (Deemed to be University) is currently accredited with ‘A+’ Grade.
